I am an unemployed investor who has had a variety of businesses. The last one that I had was an advertising agency but I shut that down in 2012 to become a full time property investor.
Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse after. So here I am telling you a bit of my story and what difference being a member of FAR Capital has made to my life.
My initial education in property was by reading books and research. Something that I found out after doing all this is that the commonality among wealthy people is that they all have property portfolios and this is what escalates someone from being rich to being wealthy.
From that point onwards, I knew I needed to buy a property. Before I joined FAR Capital I had accumulated a number of residential properties, roughly about 10 residential properties through various methods and strategies… auction, subsale, mulsub, JV, new property etc.
Then I went to commercial property, which was my downfall. This is because I followed a “property guru” who said that he knows how to find us properties that will be more valuable in the future.
He would buy the entire project and slice it up and we would then buy a portion of it. However upon completion, we couldn’t get a tenant for up to 10 years now. Each property is worth more than RM1 million so the monthly commitment becomes too much to bear thus I end up selling almost all of my residential portfolio to survive this mistake.
